A simple easy to operate bottom sampler with an aperture sample volume of 4.5 litre. The sampler is lowered in the jaws open position and once the device has come to rest on the sediment, the tension on the bridle is relaxed, and the locking bar is automatically released. When the lowering cable is pulled taut to retrieve the device, the buckets containing the sample are closed together.
